McAfee & AOL

In 1998 I took out AOL and as part of the deal got a £2.99 per month McAfee package. This was originally via DELL computer. I continued this until 2009 when I cancelled both broadband and McAfee.
REcently I had a look at my McAfee subscriptions. I noticed that the McAfee via AOL was still there despite me cancelling it. So I contacted them and they said it was AOL.
I contacted AOL and they said I had cancelled it on 1 April 2009.
We had a conference call organised by McAfee with AOL. AOL still said they had cancelled it. But McAfee's records still show it.
Here's the great thing. My old credit card which this was on was long gone, so I've not been paying for it, so I'm not that bothered. But this subscription via AOL is still on McAfee, and McAfee cannot cancel it. INstead a screen shot has been sent to me showing it as zero.
Right, so let's sum up. McAfee get no money from this. They haven't since AOL cancelled it on 1 April 2009. AOL have no record of me, or this, so cannot cancel it. Credit cards are no help to anyone, as they are long gone. And there it will stay for all eternity. A subscription going nowhere and each month being billed by an unseen force via AOL, on a non-existant credit card, for the amount of zero.
And McAfee say they cannot remove it, despite no longer having any agreement with AOL.
And AOL cannot remove it because they have no record of it, as it was cancelled. Nor do they have any billing records against me, my address or anything.
Has anyone got any idea what the HELL is going on with these two companies?
