However, at the same time I believe that the wording on your documents given to the customer (in this case myself) at the time of joining is slightly ambiguous (being kind). As to the reasons for this, I wouldn't like to speculate...
A simple solution to this ambiguity would be to incorporate what you've just written into the final paragraph of the confirmation letter. With so much information being absorbed, not everyone is able to draw the correct conclusions from ambiguous language.
I agree with you and I will certainly pass on what you have posted.
We do try to explain in the Direct Debit guarantee that payment amounts can be changed, as long as we inform the customer.
But as you say, some customers may need further explanations of why this may happen/account status etc.
So thanks for your feedback
Helena“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
It is possible with EON to make additional payments by credit/debit card alongside your monthly direct debit. You can do it via your online account. I've made an additional payment because of the cold weather and because I don't want them to increase my DD to a stupid amount in April. Next winter might be warm.....0
