Beware Vistaprint rip off charges

Following a Moneysaving expert link in December, I spent about 3 hours making the perfect desktop calendar for my nephew's Christmas present. It was advertised at half price, making it about £1.98 . Near the beginning it said there was an upload charge (for uploading the necessary photos) of £1.75 ish, so I estimated with p&p it might be about £5.50 to £6 ish.

When I'd finished my hours of work and got to the payment page I was horrified to see the upload fee doubled and postage to get it in time for Christmas took this £1.98 calendar OVER £20 !! :mad:I was disgusted. I exited and then re-entered the site, there was no mistake with the low advertised prices, but the final page still showed astronomical charges. I twice contacted Vistaprint to ask why the discrepancy, but had no response.

What a rip off. Fortunately I found a half price code for Jessops, excellent 1 hour service and my nephew was delighted with the result!

  • I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Vistaprint, shopperjpg but I am sick to death of people reporting them as scam artists and rip off merchants.

Yes you get charged for uploads and delivery - but none of this is hidden, it is all made perfectly clear during the process! If you order early enough you can choose the 21 day cheap delivery, it is only the rush delivery charges that are expensive.

I regularly use Vistaprint for gifts of t-shirts, pens, mugs etc and I bought all my wedding invitations, thank you cards and even save the date magnets from them. Their items are fantastic quality, their customer service is second to none and ALL pricing is clear and easy to understand. Plus they have permanently good offers for existing customers.

Provided you actually check which boxes you tick before you pay, you will not have any problems.

This post is also on the wrong board so I will PM a BG to move it.
