I have recieved post for a lady who lives a few doors down from us..postman delivers it to us . It does have her address on letter lol
last time i told the postman what he was doing and to check before he posts it through my door.
we went away for christmas ..came back to lots of post almost half for the lady. I took the post round and stood talking to her and she was like oooo its a good job it was delivered to you as my new bank card and pin has came !
I have told her to complain to royal mail as i have already had a word with the postman about it. Doubt they will do anything ...

Just write 'Delivered to wrong address - number X not Y' on the front of the envelopes and pop them into any letter box. If the problem is as serious as you make out, the RM/Local sorting office will notice it.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

As I understand it postie's have to deliver to the address on the letter, not to the name.
I know you have told the postie but in the start your neighbour may have moved in with you, who knows? Even arranged for some private mail to be delivered to your address so as someone at her address does not see it .....
I think your neighbour should be contacting her bank etc and making sure they have the correct address.
God forbid she has been intentionally giving your address to the bank ! 0 -

Except the OP explicitly states it has the neighbour's address on.
I've had problems with my post being delivered to the wrong address, if you just fill in the form on the Royal Mail website someone will get in touch with the delivery office manager who will make sure any posties on your route know to take care with your addresses.
I also got a free book of stamps when I complained (delivered to the correct address thankfully :rotfl:)0 -
Darksun is right. Report it as soon as you can. Click here for the Royal Mail complaint link and select the option 'I'm receiving someone else's mail'
This will be forwarded to your local depot for investigation and should result in a 'marker' being put on your mail/neighbours mail so it gets double checked before the postie bundles up the mail for delivery.
I am suprised that after speaking to your postman that the problem still happens. Misdeliveries often happen, usually where
1. Addresses are flats (with flat A,B,C etc)
2. The letter box is on a different street to the address road, commonly on corner of the street houses.
3. One or both of the addresses do not have a clearly displayed house number
4. The street name is very similar to a neighbouring one.
5. The address slot on the sorting frame at the mail depot is poorly marked and the postie sorts the wrong mail into the wrong slot. You would not believe how antiquated these frames and sorting methods are - something out of the ark!0 -
Its a bit weird that they misdeliver her post to your house from the same woman repeatildy. Do you have similar addresses? e.g your 3 and their 8 or your house is named something similar. Obviously something is getting c0cked up. I must admit i don't know how post really works but i always assumed that the postman would be given the post in an ordered sequence, otherwise they would be routing through the mail at each house to see what should be delivered their. Like I say though i have no idea how post works. I would suggest you complain to Royal Mail officially via the website bit continue to pass mail to your neighbour, I wouldn't go down the "wrong address" route someone else has sugested as that would be a bit petty if she only lives a couple of doors down! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
