What is the advantage to paying by Credit Card????

OP what you have to realise is that the CC was never going to be in dispute here because the holiday was always going to be refunded by ABTA. It's not the CC companies fault and whether you went on holiday or not the interest was always going to be there. The CC would only get involved when all other claims failed.
In the future when booking an ABTA protected hoiliday you do not need to use a CC for protection as ABTA always cover the cost of the holiday.0 -

Wrong, ABTA don't provide that level of protection any more, your holiday MAY be ATOL protected.
ABTA state they may be able to assist in getting back your money, but they point you in the direction of your credit card company first if it was a credit card booking
