Applying for a card for BT

can you specify you want to balance transfer only or that's the purpose of it.
My theory is a BT shows I am not planning to spend more - just clear my debts - and that as I'm already paying the mim payments I'm not suddenly finding more money to pay them.
Just a thought.

thanks

I just need to look nearer the time and see what my best options are.
I noticed on the barclaycard website they say they offer cards to people who have 10% of their annual salary on CC. Mine is more than that (which I'd ideally like transfered) so not sure if its worth trying with them.
Im thinking way ahead - don't need to do it til mid-March!!0 -
i tried this very thing last month. have two cards £1800 on one and £3500 on the other. i was turned down by RBS -"affodability" (i take home 1850 per month) they said and Natwest who offered me £600 credit limit which wouldn't even come close to the transfer so didn't proceed. like you i also thought that as my outgoings weren't changing there wouldn't be a problem. I now don't know whether to apply to another lender or hold off for a few months and try again while attempting to clear someof tyhe balance of the other cards.0
