Faulty oven after new kitchen fit

My mother has just had a new kitchen fitted and the oven is now misbehaving. The fitting firm say that the responsibility lies with the manufacturer of the oven. We have contacted them and they're going to come and have a look next week.
Before they come, I'd like to know if this is true - is the oven manufacturer at fault? or is the fitting company trying to wriggle out of it?

How recently? Highlights the need to keep a retention.0 -
Kitchen was fitted in first 2 weeks of November. Oven started playing up about 2-3 weeks after that.
We paid the fitting firm for the entire fitment including the oven.
It has a main oven and a microwave/combi oven mounted above. The microwave/combi cuts out (not power, it just resets the timer to zero) after about 30 seconds of cooking.0 -
just out of interest, have you tried resetting the clock, mine wont work if the clock isnt set.
and its brand new. so im not going mad, if the power has been off, then the oven will not work until i set the time0 -
I run a Maintenance Company and a couple of years ago we had a contract to deal with all the snagging / defects of a regional house builder. In the home owners pack, all queries relating to failure of any inbuilt appliances went via the Manufacturers and not the house builder / kitchen installer.
This is common practice and not the installer trying to wriggle out of it. Even if you go to the installer and they change it, its the manufacturer that will pay for it in the end which is why that guarantee them and employ service engineers to come out and fix them.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
