I attempted to book a flight/hotel with Thomas Cook this morning, but received an error message while payment was being authorised. After many phone calls, I know now I have to contact flexibletrips.com - who have a special 'technical difficulties while booking' option when you phone, so I'm obviously not alone in having this problem.
After being on hold for over an hour at 5p a minute I've given up for the day so just wanted to know if anyone else had had the same problem? I've lost confidence in them, but just really want to know if my payment will be taken from my account. I know only they can tell me for sure, but has this happened to anyone else? And did anyone find an alternative to the 0844 number - my branch/general TC customer services can't help me.

Can you email them to ring you, dont book the same thing again as its quite possible it could be booked, i have only used them through work not privately and sometimes you can be holding a long time especially if there is a crisis happening ie snow, canx flights, ash cloud, bank hols etc.0

I emailed them my phone number but don't hold out much hope of them phoning me. Just have to wait and see what happens regarding my payment and will maybe wait til after New Year to contact them.0

Just had a thought, the prices are normally the same on flexi as in a thomas cook shop, so do you have a local TC shop if so pop in tell them what happened but you dont know if its booked or not and ask them if they ring flexi and check if it is booked and if its not then you'll book it with them there and then, everyones a winner you know whats happened and they probably get the booking.0

I might try that later on today - thanks - I did go into the local shop yesterday but that was before I knew it was through flexitrips. They told me they couldn't phone anyone on my behalf, and really weren't very helpful at all, but I might put on my 'desperate' face and see what happens. Just waiting for flexitrips' phone lines to open at 9am, but so far have not been at all impressed with Thomas Cook.0

I got through to them after one ring........ but then got cut off mid way through the operator looking at a new booking for me. Phoned back to say 'forget it, I'll go elsewhere' so now I'm in the situation where I know yesterday's booking wasn't placed, but the second operator was a bit concerned that the new booking would have been set up after I was cut off. I don't think that's likely - wouldn't they need me on the line before they could authorise payment again?
