  • It's tough to answer that on here. For where to stay, look on Lastminute.com and you'll be able to get a "top secret" hotel in London. The tube system means you don't specifically need to stay close to anywhere. You can get a travelcard for a week and use the buses, tube network, and get discounts on things like the trips down the thames (but please wrap up it will be cold)

Getting to Cambridge is a doddle. Kings Cross does a Cambridge Express (51 mins from Kings X direct to Cambridge) I think it's 15 mins past the hour. If not theres loads of trains that go to Cambs from London with a few stops along the way.

Have a good look through Martin's deals as there are restaurant vouchers a plenty at the moment and London like any other city has tonnes of mainstream restaurants. Also look on Lastminute.com you'll get a theatre and dinner deal for a good price (a surprisingly good price these days).

Don't know where you're coming from but hope you enjoy the capital!

Look on https://www.Groupon.co.uk for meal deals for London.
It is better to use a comparison site to find hotel deals as prices can vary hugely for the same hotel.
ie using https://www.roomratecompare.com a random search in OCT for 10 days, The 3* Hotel Americana comes in at £830 B+B with DHR, however fans of Ebookers would pay £1033 Room Only, a difference of over £200 !! that could nearly feed you for the 10 days
If you use the tube you can stay further from the city centre and get an even better deal

London is massive, you really need to narrow it down to where you want to go and what you want to do and then ask the question

I suggest you look at, and post on, the 'UK holidays' board here, as London is one of the most popular topics
