First Utility – A different question

I know there has been some lengthy discussions regarding the poor quality of service offered by First Utility on this forum.

I am thinking about switching to them, purely on cost grounds, but I wanted some very specific feedback from customers that have been with them for some time.

So, if you have been on their iSave Dual Fuel tariff for some time now, how have you found their price increases verse the other major energy companies? Have they consistently tracked below, or have they raised the price similar too or above the other suppliers?

Also has anyone been allowed to switch iSave tariffs following a price increase to get a better rate?

  • What they did was stuff all their current customers with a massive price hike whilst advertising lower prices to new customers. From memory the gas daily charge when from 30p a day to 70p a day for existing customers, whilst new customers had to pay 50p a day. Existing customers were told they could not get the 50p a day rate.

You want to be stuffed by this company feel free.

Do not bother telling him anything , if he say's he has seen the posts then he should of seen that the answers to his stupid questions have been answered. Let him switch to them, he seemed determined to do this anyway, and I hope he does, and he also gets stuffed.
Where do these people come from?, I guess he was made for F.U

I appreciate that you may have had a poor experience with First Utility and your 40 posts reflect this, but your reply to me is over the top. There are also generally a few customers that have a poor experience and a much larger proportion that have a good experience.

Are there any happy First Utility customers out there that can answer the OP questions?
  • I switched in April. I had smart meters in May/June. I have never had live readings for electricity. My gas readings stopped being live in December. I have never had a electicity bill since joining them. My gas bill stopped arriving in October. I have two ombudsman cases ruled in my favour which have been ignored at present. The only email I have recived of then in six months of complaints was one this week telling me my Gas tarrif was increasing from Febuary. Gas Standing Charge from 30p to 69.3p per day units 2.31p to 2.63p /kilowatt.
No doubt when I try to switch later this year they will block it as I owe them money due to them not sending me any bills.
No matter how much you think you will save in the long run you will be worst off through non existent customer service and they will probably hike you tarrif after you have been with them for a few months.
