£80 for 1 months Gas - this right?
Options
Hello.
I recently moved home, and immediately changed from the existing supplier to the supplier I was with at my old address,
The process took about 1 month - from 6th November to 8th December.
I've just had my 'final' bill from the original supplier of the property, and they're after almost £80 for the 1 months' usage.
It's a (very) modest 2 bed home, with myself, my partner and our very young daughter. It's has Central Heating (combi-boiler) and gas stove (elec oven). The property is about 10 years old or so, though the boiler is much newer - couple of years old tops I think.
At my old property - a new-build 2.5 bed, I was paying about £30/m - and even ended up in credit.
I know November was quite cold, but sounds to me like they're being somewhat opportunistic knowing I was leaving them.

That sounds right to me. My Gas from Nov 19th to Dec 22nd was £57 which I was chuffed with so £80 isn't too bad.0

Hmm, fair enough. Perhaps it just seems more, as I don't have the option of spreading it across the year & offsetting lower summer usage against it.
(The bill arrived today - with a payment due date of ... yesterday! Thanks a lot!)0 -
Haven't got this months bill yet a few days time I will get it, but last month 26th Oct to Nov 25 we were billed £56 for 158 metric units 1808kWh
So far I reckon we have used 3487kwh from 25th Nov until 25 Dec last year same about it was 3362 this is for 3 bedroom semi0 -
Thanks for your feedback so far - must just feel worse than it is - and I expect my December usage will be even worse (but will at least be able to spread the cost of this now!)
The saving grace is that my elec usage only came to £1.24 - as the meter was faulty when we moved in and only replaced a few days before transferring to old supplier)
