First Large Gas Billed Advice Needed Please

Options
Hi

Moved into my first 2 bed room Masionette over the summer.

Just had my second quarter gas bill.

Came to £178.13 for the 22nd Sep - 22 December 92 Days £1.94 a day.

Usage was 5260.33 KWH which was converted from 470 units.

In your opnion is this quite high or pretty normal?

We have gas hob and gas heating for water and heating etc.

Also had a few days snowed in where we had the heating on from 8 6 in the morning till 11 at night.

Usually we have heating on 6-8 in the morning and then 6-11 at night. The theromstat is good in the fact it shuts off once it reaches 21 degrees.

Any help you guys can give would be appreciated.

Regards

Jonathan

  • to be honest, that sounds about right....I am on prepayment meter at the mo, and was shocked to be feeding it up to £8 a day in the very cold weather recently!!!

  • Hi

    Many thanks for your replies.

We have had the loft insulated recently so hopefully that will help us. Plus we haven't build up a surplus from our direct debits over the summer. Hopefully December to March will be cheaper.

    Me too !!

I thought i was the only one paying such a high daily amount.

During the cold spell just passed i was feeding my meter with £60+ per week . The alternative was going cold and risking burst/frozen pipes . No contest really.
The loopy one has gone :j
