TSFE buyer strikes again!

I accepted a Best Offer from a buyer in Oxford, with postage priced for SD next day as I'm on holiday and can get to the PO easily for once.

Now had a an email saying he is 'stuck' in Eastern Europe for 2-3 weeks, and will I post there.

I certainly won't, so what's the best option? Offer a mutual and relist or ask for payment and see if he becomes a dead-beat buyer and claim fees?

He does have decent feedback which makes it even more annoying!

If you don't want or intend to send it there is no point asking for payment, as he might pay up if he still wants the item.

It gets worse. I sent cancellation offer with explanation of why.

Now the ****er has paid with PayPal but asked nothing be sent before Tue, by which time I'm back at work.

Plus, he's added the comment 'I will send you payment right now with my mates address on check out.'

This is the Confirmed address of the Ebay member who bought, but the recipient name is different from that on the PayPal transaction so it looks like they're sharing an Ebay login.

Right now, I'm thinking of refunding and taking the hit on fees/feedback.

  • If you are concerned about Seller Protection, then you must send to the address on the Paypal transaction. As you are sending SD, I am assuming it is over £41 in value. You will be covered for SP as you have tracking which will show online.

Why not just send it, and make sure it goes special delivery?

It's then his problem if he can't receive it, and you'll have tracking showing that a delivery attempt was made. They hold SD items for 3 weeks don't they?

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Could it be someone has hijacked the account of a legitimate, good feedback buyer?

Buyers can be nothing less than 100% good.

If the address says 'OK to send to' and eligible for seller protection then you are fine. It doesn't matter whether it matches the ebay details or not. I have gift addresses in my paypal account one of which is a holiday cottage I used once to send something to my sister.
