E7 times

I have been trying to maximise my night rate usage on E7 and during the summer I checked that day rate was starting at 0800.
I expected that after the clocks changed it would perhaps start at 0700, but this morning I checked and it still changed over at 0800.
I have a digital meter and the time changed automatically last saturday to GMT, so does that mean that the changeover times are set within the meter ( not by radio signal) and the same timings remain throughout the year.
Also as the changeover is at 0800 does that mean the night rate starts at 0100? If so are these timings normal? I am in the East Mids area.
Thanks.

There is no 'normal' or 'set time' for E7 and it varies from area to area and it depends on the method used to switch the meter over. The old time switches do not change when the clocks change but if you have one of the latest radio controlled ones, the time can presumably be set via the radio signal. You should get your seven hours at the cheaper rate but that does not have to be at a specific set time. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I`m in the E Mids area and have just changed from Pgen to Ebico but the timings remain the same 1am to 8 am all year.0

Wouldn't it all depend on the type of meter installed. Some mechanical, prone to be slow, some that stay on the hours put in originally and some radio controlled.
Thought mine was radio controlled but not so, hours now are even more inconvenient. 11.30pm to 6.30pm. and an hour forward of that in summer.
Mind you, am not on storage heaters, but like the option of cheap electric being available, hard to justify tho.
No sure who OWNS the meter, guess it's the provider.0 -
Thanks for responses. Alared confirms that EMids does in fact continue cheap night rate until 0800. Cheap breakfast eh??0
