Facias, Capping & Guttering

Lo guys,

I know nothing about any of the above and would appreciate some insight :)

I have got a quote from a SWISH approved fitter . For woodtreatment, Capping of facias & New guttering at a cost of £1400 is this a typical cost?

My house is a 1970's 3 bed semi + garage extension :)

thanks in advance guys i never knew this sub forum existed but its awsome!!!

This does seem about a normal price. But to actually do the job the materials cost a few hundred quid.About 2yrs ago i had a quote,it was bout £1600.
Because im a tight !!!!,i did it myself. And to be honest it was quite an easy job.Have you thought of doing it yourself ? If you dont want to do it then as i say the price is about average.
  • The going rate is £60/metre for capping over .. or £75/metre for stripping the existing one off. I would say to do it yourself you could buy all the materials for £250.

Is that the only quote you had? if so then try a few more, ask a few people around your area who have had it donw recently that sometimes helps.

We had ours done about 2 years ago, used a local company, 3 bed semi with small extension & we paid just under £700...

We're very satisfied - they cleaned all the rubbish away afterwards too.
