Can someone advise if it is possible within the 'iii Portfolio Builder' to set up a regular payment scheme to purchase shares or funds, then after the first purchase has been made cancel the arrangement.

Even though it was set up as a regular purchase - as only one purchase has been made, will iii treat this as a reg. puchase (£1.50 charge) or a one off purchase (£10.00 charge) ?

Yes, that's possible, although it isn't necessary.

When I want to use the £1.50 service I normally add the money from my debit card the night before an investment day and set the instructions to invest as appropriate.

The only difference between the 1.50 and 10.00 service is that with the 1.50 you invest on set days and you cannot chose the price at which the deal is struck.

So as long as I choose one of the four available dates in any month - it will be treated as a regular payment and only incur a £1.50 charge.
