Comet laptop problem

i bought a laptop from Comet 18 months ago,and although out of warranty,i took on a new extended warranty,the pin the power charger goes into broke off so took it to comet inverness on 4/12,they gave me a form saying if it wasnt ready to collect by 21/12 they would contact me,on 22/12 we hadnt heard anything so phoned them,enquiring what was gonig on,and was told by a man it hadnt been picked up yet due to the adverse weather!,yet that night he phoned me back and told me it was picked up on the 9th to get taken away for repair.
my wife phoned them on 24/12 asking if it was back yet(as our son,s autistic he relys on his laptop and everyday hes without it is a nightmare)they said they would phone us back,but never got a phone call.
on tuesday of this week i phoned again asking about it,and was told the parts man would phone me,yet again no phone call,so this morning i phoned again to be told he,ll phone me between 1-2 today but that the paperwork was back ,but the laptop wasnt!!!! and the parts guy was trying to find out where it was,so sounds to me like they have lost it! Comets customer service is shockingly poor,3 times i was promised a phone call,yet they just seem to be ignoring me,when were they going to tell me it was last? the middle of next year,if this guy phones between 1-2(wont hold my breath) iam going to ask to speak to the manager and demand i get a new repalcement laptop asap,and comepnsation for missing files i need for work and my bookelt i write fortnightly,we cant hold on for months its not fair on my son,has anyoen esle had problems like this with comet?

  • Don't phone them anymore, it's far too easy to ignore you and fob you off.
    Go into the store and speak very loudly about how disgusted you are with their treatment of yourself. You will find that they want nothing more than to get you off the shop floor so you might actually get the answers you are looking for.
    I have had many problems with Comet and their extended warranties. It wasn't until I got shirty in public, in the store on a very busy saturday, that I managed to get things sorted.

    couldnt make it up today as son isnt to well so phoned again,got the manager,at 14.15 he said i,ll phone you back in 2 mins,and still waiting!! long bloody 2 mins,he s as bad as the rest of his staff!!!
