jsa process taking too long

No, it is not. Whilst there clearly has been a delay in payment, people need to take responsibility for their own finances, and ensuring that you have savings sufficient to see you through a month or so is certainly not unreasonable.
It is very unreasonable, i wouldn't want to wait an extra month for my wages!0 -

You don't appear to have read my post correctly - I stated that having a minimum one month contingency fund is not unreasonable. The OP has had seven years to plan for this.
Your comparison to waiting a month for wages is not relevant - the OP does not work. It is unfair to workers to equate the two.
Gone ... or have I?0 -
No it's not, she still has bills to pay, outgoings just the same as the rest of us, it's unreasonable to have to wait a month for payment, and if was my processing team taking a month to process a claim i would not be happy.0

I agree Nickybat. I am certain that Income Support does not include an element to accrue savings suffiecient to live off for a month!!0

I called the jobcentre half an hour ago, ive been told i will receive a call before 5.00 to let me know whats happening, he was really helpful and wasnt very happy ive waited 4 weeks!! as i am still a single mother not a dole dosser!!!
I will let you know how i get on when i receive the call0 -
At the end of the day income support and jsa is paid for you, tax credit is for your daughter, therefore you have not been paid for yourself for a month and that is unacceptable, if you have not had a call at 5pm which i suspect you won't be on the phone
first thing in the morning to them and request a 1 hr callback, this needs to be sorted and as i said before if it were my team taking that long i would be livid!!!0 -
i feel for you. Some people have no idea what its like to be without any money. Ask them how would they like it what would they do?
I agree Mp is always a good route to go down if no success or ask for the jobcentre manager!:footie:0
