No, it is not. Whilst there clearly has been a delay in payment, people need to take responsibility for their own finances, and ensuring that you have savings sufficient to see you through a month or so is certainly not unreasonable.

It is very unreasonable, i wouldn't want to wait an extra month for my wages!

You don't appear to have read my post correctly - I stated that having a minimum one month contingency fund is not unreasonable. The OP has had seven years to plan for this.

Your comparison to waiting a month for wages is not relevant - the OP does not work. It is unfair to workers to equate the two. ;)

No it's not, she still has bills to pay, outgoings just the same as the rest of us, it's unreasonable to have to wait a month for payment, and if was my processing team taking a month to process a claim i would not be happy.
  • I agree Nickybat. I am certain that Income Support does not include an element to accrue savings suffiecient to live off for a month!!
  • DMG how the hell can you budget when i barely scrape by week by week!!! you obviously have never been a single parent!! and i was told they wernt swapping me over until 2011!! and i wasnt told id have to wait this long, so when im told 12 days, 12 days is what i expect. and for your info my jobsearch is going well...if your not here to help then i dont need you being sarcastic and nasty

i did ask when i signed on!!!! im not stupid, they dont tell you anything, why the hell do you think im on here????
  • I called the jobcentre half an hour ago, ive been told i will receive a call before 5.00 to let me know whats happening, he was really helpful and wasnt very happy ive waited 4 weeks!! as i am still a single mother not a dole dosser!!!

At the end of the day income support and jsa is paid for you, tax credit is for your daughter, therefore you have not been paid for yourself for a month and that is unacceptable, if you have not had a call at 5pm which i suspect you won't be on the phone
first thing in the morning to them and request a 1 hr callback, this needs to be sorted and as i said before if it were my team taking that long i would be livid!!!

i feel for you. Some people have no idea what its like to be without any money. Ask them how would they like it what would they do?

I agree Mp is always a good route to go down if no success or ask for the jobcentre manager!
