    Also, whilst I think about it, you mention the credit you already have. It might be worth checking the total amount of credit available to you (mortgage + c/c limit #1 + c/c limit #2 etc), and how much of it you're currently using...then compare that to your earnings. Many companies have been known to refuse credit on the basis that your 'income:debt' ratio and 'income:available credit' ratios are too high already.
