Hi, can anyone recommend a vet who specialises, or has higher training in dealing with cats. I am in East London but can drive a reasonable distance.
I would be especially interested in a vet with a Naturopathic bent, but that may be asking too much!
I know of Kitten to Cat in Richmond area....but that really would be difficult to get to...driving a cat across London during clinic hours is not my idea of fun!
I know the RCVS has a higher training scheme dealing with companion animals, so any vets on here have recommendations regarding that?

Get your vet on to this - for the likes of RVC and the like you have to be referred by them......most vets have the contacts to check areas of speciality which you, as a 'layperson' will struggle to do.
I'd recommend RVC to anyone, I've been there with dogs and horses and as well as being very good, up to date vets they are also very good communicators with their owners! Not always the case with other vets IME.

The only ones I can find are The Oxford Cat Clinic and Cat Only Vet in Worthing in Sussex but I'm guessing those are both too far away to be practical.
This is the RCVS find a vet page - you can search by postcode, species treated and postgraduate qualifications.

I would expect most people who have post grad qualifications to be in referral practices but you could look for CertSAM holders ( certificate in small animal medicine - you can't specialise in just cats for this one) or DSAM (Feline) (Diploma in Small Animal Medicine which can be feline only)......0 -
Have a look at Fabcats? They are part of the ISFM and I think have a section on finding cat specialists?0
