    Yesterday was intense

I had the interview, got the job, and then declined it. It just didn't feel right. That was the hardest thing ever to do. I've got to trust my instincts though. Ooh eck!

Also forgive me MSE ers, for I have sinned. I have worshipped at the temple of Chanel and bought myself a nice new Miami Peach nail polish.

Wowzers! Where did that weekend go?

Have bleugh cold, lady time, a very busy day and my second consultation meeting, and a lunchtime spent queuing in the post office today. When I get home, need to clear the kitchen and also start swatting for my 'keep my job' interview, which is probably coming up in a weeks time-no pressure!

    Yay!

  • congratulations on getting the job - and very well done on saying no. It is VERY hard especially if you are not overly happy in your current place of work. :T

Well I know this is probably getting a bit boring to read now, but today is rather significant. It is one week until I pay off my loan. I will have paid it off two months early. I can't believe it. Three more payments after that and my final credit card will be clear, and I will be debt free. Whoopee. I keep looking at the debt free roll of honour thread. I can't believe that I will be posting on there soon.

    xx

Over a week later, I'm still feeling ill. Pressure is mounting at work as it is our busiest time and I found out the date of my interview to keep my job, which is next week. I've had a rubbish night's sleep. However I had a break through when I decided to watch an early morning episode of made in Chelsea. After seeing Agne leave the company becomes her boss had joked about 'sharing' her with a friend, I suddenly realised that I should quit moaning, and start having some respect for myself. I have more than proved I can do my job and a lot more. Yes I will go through the formal procedure of the interview, but if I don't get it, it really is their loss. I have proved that I can come up with ideas that those two grades higher than me are not capable of. I'm fabulous. The good thing is that it is in the afternoon, which is straight after I go into my bank and pay off my loan, so I'll be on a high after that.

I'm going to quit moaning, and start believing in myself. I've proved that I'm more than capable in every job I've had, I've passed the foreign office entry tests, some years ago-which is no mean feat, I've been offered an interview at net a porter, I got a job last week and turned it down because it wasn't right. I must have something that people are interested in. I'll go in there, do my best, and if that isn't good enough, then so be it.

If someone is trying to test us this month, I wish they'd stop. Not only have OH and I been ill at the same time, I have had trouble sleeping, last night because I had such a stressful day at work, I spent the evening with stomach cramps and indigestion, then couldn't get to sleep. I finally got to sleep at 2 this morning with some assistance from Nytol, only to be woken up an hour and 1/2 later with OH with sickness and the the big D.

Not only do I have to go and have a stressful 5 hour meeting today on less than two hours sleep, I won't even have the luxury of having an alchoholic bevvy at my end of department do which I organised, because now I'll be driving myself home.

Anyhow that's that. There are silver linings to this day. It is payday, 3 days until the loan is paid off, and another £300 coming off the CC. The £400 that normally comes off the card in addition to the £300 is being diverted this month to pay the loan off early. So I may pay a little more interest on the CC next month, but I made that little promise to myself that I would pay the loan off early, and I need a psychological boost at the minute.

So yesterday was the day from hell, but then it ended rather well-ooh that rhymes!

Anywho, yesterday I withdrew £300 towards my loan, and will withdraw the other £100 today. I know this may sound slightly crazy, as the loan I'm paying off early is with the bank that I withdrew the money from. There is method to my madness though, in that I wanted to hand the physical cash over the counter, rather than just handing them my switch card, or them just doing some manual adjustment on the computer, 2: I'm doing this on the lunchbreak before my interview, to give me a psycholgical boost :)

I laid it all out on the carpet last night. Lots of lovely purple £20 notes. Cool.

    Eeek!

I got some vouchers from the people I work with yesterday. £135 in total, so I couldn't have been that mean to them. Well, in true me style, it is 9am the following morning and they are spent already.

I was thinking that perhaps I should be sensible and buy things for the house, or use the vouchers in waitrose to buy our weekly food shop. Then reality sunk in. I have spent the last 18 months scrimping and saving, denying myself everything, and being stressed out. So I spent the money on me, because I know that I would never walk into a shop and blow that amount of money on me in one sitting or they are things that they do not sell in the shops around here, and would require a trip to London.Vouchers take the guilt out, because you haven't spent your own money. I had to put £6 towards my shop, but it was worth it for the lovely treats I got. I opted for in store delivery so that I can collect them on monday and relax after my interview.

1 bottle of Annick Goutal Songes perfume-I have wanted some of this literally for years, in fact since the time I tested it on my hand in selfridges in London 5 years ago, loved it, but then talked myself out of buying it because it was a bit expensive.I'm saving it to wear at Christmas.

1 bottle of Creme de la mer face wash-Sounds super posh, looks fancy, and the blue bottle goes with my bath towels (i know, i know, but hey, it was vouchers and that's what they're for, plus the sound of it being an oil that you massage on dry skin, then add water to make a milky wash just sounded too good to pass by)

1 diptyque gardenia candle-I love the fragrance of gardenia's but have never been able to buy the plant because they like a nice warm house, and I have always lived in old drafty ones.I also love diptyque candles because they last for ages, the scent is strong enough so you don't have to have them on for long, and they smell like real flowers. Plus I have three other ones on my fireplace that were used years and years ago. I smell the wax in the bottom of the glass (these were bought 7 years ago), and dream of having one again. Plus the smell is good for relaxing days, lying back and chilling out-i'm very much deserving of one of those days.

    So i justified it, right?
