yes thanks for the tip from me also - Have 5 in "scheduled" ready to switch on tomorrow when Im up. Only stopping now would you believe! Have put up near £500 worth (at starting prices) dont obviously expect to get this but would hope I would at least get £100 for the stuff thats up. There are quite a few watchers already so I will remain hopeful!

The other plus side is the hallway is now completely clear as is 3/4 of the office! Tomorrows agenda is the rest of the office and 2 bedrooms! Time consuming thing is Im actually tidying as I go as well and theres just boxes everywhere!
Life is what you make it.

I have a handful more items to list after clearing out the loft yesterday ready for the move - most of them will be in the 99p category anyway but 99p is 99p. Transfered more money into my savings account after paid collections yesterday. I'll go and do the photos now to get that out of the way!
  • Hi all, I'm up for giving this challenge a go this year. I've not done too bad on e-bay in the past and have loads here I can list. Will try to make a good start today as its a free insertion day. My first item will be my nokia 6111 Cath kidston mobile with box, as I'm hoping that will make a good price. Have been known to find bits at the car booty then list on e-bay, found a signed James Herbert book one year bought for 50p sold for £42. :j

  • So how are we all doing so far today? I had 47 listed last night and am now up to 52, got to stop soon and get ready as we are going to visit my brother and see his new house in Walton on Thames and are going out for lunch, hope to be back by 4/5pm to get lots more done, am going to try and aim for 100 listings in total.

  • I'm absolutely DYING to join this challenge as I have my eBay head on today - but after my massive clearout last year, and with being away for so long, I dont think I have anything left to sell :(
Shame, as I could SO do with some extra money!
  • My mum has "donated" a few items this morn and said that I can keep the money if they sell (but I will treat her to a little something) so I need to photograph those before the sun disappears again.

I have a few watchers already... I'll be pleased if any of my items sell, even if I just get the starting prices as I've set them at a decent level :)

Hope you all get plenty listed today!

If anyone got an iPhone for Xmas then the eBay selling app is really handy.
It's free to download, you can upload pix straight from your phone's camera and it has nifty little tools which let you research what similar items have sold for and scan the barcodes of things like DVDs etc.
You can't do much with the listing in the way of formatting, but it's pretty quick and easy.

The iPhone app is pretty quick and easy to use however I like to give a detailed description for my items and it doesn't work well for me in that respect.

Also remember the terms and conditions of the freee listing weekend state that auctions listed using the iPhone app will not be free.

I managed to list 14 items yesterday which wasn't bad bearing in mind I didn't get myself into gear until almost 6pm! Am going to try and put a few more things on today but don't want to go mad as it then means it takes ages to package them all up and take them to the post office.

Not a bad start though, already got quite a few watchers so fingers crossed :)

I read somewhere that Sunday evening is the best time to finish an auction, but who knows! I think a 10 day listing is too long, people will lose interest or forget about it. I think 3-5 days is the sweet spot, making sure some of it goes over a weekend.

I guess it depends what you are selling but the 10 days listing over two weekends finishing on a sunday is eBays own recommendation. I run an eBay for charity shop at work and have met with their own staff who recommend this type of listing. eBay is busiest over the weekend so running over two of them generates more watchers, which should, generate more bids. The busiest times on eBay are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings between 8pm and 10pm - they have lots of facts like this. I will be seeing them again in July so will try and pick up some more info
