Wow, I never knew about this! I'm the same as you - all my items are less than £5 at the moment, let alone £10. I'm considering putting an ipod on shortly, and maybe a couple other bits for over £10, but overall I am not expecting to be making much for my sales! Therefore I think micropayments would be best for my account.
If I do decide to change to micropayments, can you still change it back to a normal account at a later date?
Thanks for the tip off!0 -
Hi Katie
I'm not sure if you can change back. I think you can have a normal Paypal account and a Micropayment account but not sure if you need a different e-mail address or how it works, I just decided to change it as money is very tight at the moment and wanted to save as many pennies as possible.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
hi everyone!
how are you all getting on?
I had such a hectic week, that I didnt get round to adding photos to half of my listings, so will try & do that this weekend before they end on Thursday!
I have one bid - grand total of £3.50!
MY 'next thnig' to save for was going to be my husbands birthday trip to NYC but he has told me he would rather we get a new kitchen before we do a nice holiday! My other option was that I might fall pregnant but that hasnt happened yet, so new kitchen it is!
We have about £3k saved up & were hoping to stay around this, but our second quote has came in at £4800 ( PLUS VAT!)
First quote was b&q - around the same price, but without the electrical appliances & not at all like we wanted so its a no go!
Anyways had another kitchen co out this morning, so hoping to get their price through over the next week or so.
So I must be more dedicated with ebay! I randomly noticed my monthly selling limit has increased to 130 items! Not complaining lol!
Sorry for the long post!0 -
Hi, I've just found this thread.
I'm a bit addicted to eBay and over the last few years have been selling off my surplus stuff.
I really enjoy it, and the cash I've raised is very helpful.
I've been really suprised at the random nature of what sells on eBay.
When it's time to get rid of something, I always look at it, and wonder 'can that be sold on eBay?' Often the reply is yes, and I'm often suprised at how many people are interested and the final selling price.
On the other hand, there's the things that stick and you re-list and re-list and they never go. Then, just about as you are about to give up, it suddenly sells!
I'll be reading this thread in more detail, and I'm sure I'll get some good ideas.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Credit_crunch - all my listings ending today..... 2 have got bids but both are low priced items typical! Lots of watchers on other items - so Im hoping for a bidding frenzy!! I have got a few things to pay for on ebay as went on a bit of a purchasing mission yesterday to get my children some new clothes - need to pay for them out of my ebay selling/
We are putting everything off atm *in case* I should get pregnant soon - so know that feeling. New kitchen sounds lovely - but yes they are so expensive and theres always other stuff to buy that you forget about. Our kitchen cost a fortune -only just stopped paying for it0 -
I've got 44 ending today, bids of £15.60 so far, have a few watchers on quite a few things so hopefully will get at least one bid on a few items.
Kids are going to my parents on Wednesday until Sunday so will give me chance to have a good sort out and find more stuff (and declutter a lot of the clothes just don't know where they all come from).
I only have 44 free 99p listings left so will save the items I want a bit more money for for the next free listing weekend (hopefully next weekend).
Sold something on Netmums and the person was supposed to come yesterday but did not turn up and messaged to say they would come today.
Will report back later on Ebay sales.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Bids of £49.55 now, an hour and a half left for some items and the rest later this evening. One is a collection item and he is coming for it tonight if he wins.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

£39.48 of sales so far, one person is coming to collect at 7ish that is for £30. Have £13.32 of bids on the rest of the stuff so far (28 left listed to finish today).
Going to relist the ones that didn't sell (will save some for the next free listing weekend as I'd like more than 99p for them).Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Slight change of plan for me
I was standing n my kitchen with my oh last night chatting about what we were going to make for dinner. When we heard water gushing! Cue the burst pipe in the attic
Water coming through bedroom ceiling then don through the kitchen ceiling, down through the spotlights in the kitchen!
Had no electric so didn't get round to adding photos & right now I'm feeling too sorry for myself to give a hoot!
Good luck to the rest of you & I'm sure I will be on when there is another FLW0 -
Oh Credit_crunch - what bad luck!:( Thank goodness you were in though to stop it - just imagine what could have happened if you weren't! Hopefully, the quote you;re waiting for will come in super low (and exactly what you are looking for) and so more than make up for this setback...
I do think that it's very motivating to have an end goal. My big focus is trying to clear out all our extra stuff so that when we move early next year we don't end up shipping stuff that's of no use to us. I also try to buy my boys things from the money I make on Ebay, Gumtree and TopCashBack (just got £72 from Policy Expert for our contents insurance - which cost £75 ie only £3 total! Yay! Have been reasonably successful so far though this past weekend was a dud with not a single item selling...oh well. Try again next FLW.
Good luck to everyone else!

2013 goal is getting rid of all my clutter and it would be a bonus to make £2000 again doing so!
£291/£2000 = 15%
