  • I listed something earlier (a kids game) and had a bid on it within 10 mins of listing (it is a one day auction).

  • I've just gone back to the start of the thread and been reading up, some interesting stuff on what has sold well in the past and was also interesting to see what I wrote back then, shame I'm still in debt, things went down hill when OH lost his job and took a £600 a month drop in salary. Trying desperately to find stuff to sell. I have 57 99p listings left for this month so my aim is to use them up this month.

  • Quick question: As I'm not selling as a Business anymore and just sticking to my Personal account with lots of low priced items (mainly 99p) how do I go about getting a Micropayments account with Paypal, can I have two Paypal accounts for the same Ebay ID, ie normal for over £10 items and Micro for items under.

    Thanks

  • too_much_debt I have seen something about the micropayments account on the ebay board. Think its a better way of taking payment if most payments are under £5. I know no more about it though sorry! Must be worth asking on there?
Re debt - mine is going down (as loans get paid off etc) but Im still short of money each month! The joys of a growing family in my case I think and reducing my hours at work. Its half term - I did a sort out of clothing yesterday and found more ebay stuff!

    Hi all!

Sorry, I've been lurking for a long while but still putting bits and pieces on ebay when I can. I've got 10 items listed at the moment, but most of them are relists. Although in the last couple of weeks I've sold 2 items that I thought I was going to have to give up on! I must've relisted them at least half a dozen times if not more. It's given me a bit of motivation to keep plugging away with the other bits :)

Anyway, what's this about a micropayment account on paypal?! I've never heard of it, and seeing as most of my sales are small at the moment (getting rid of clutter as opposed to tackling the big/expensive stuff at the moment) it's something I'd be interested in, particularly if the fees are smaller?!

    xxx
  • I changed my Paypal account to a Micropayments account as most of my items are under £6 (although did sell something for £40 yesterday which cost me more in PP fees but only about 43p).

With Micropayments you pay 5% + 5p rather than 3.4% plus 20p, it is worth it on small items but not on items over £10.

I changed because I don't have many high value items and am listing most things for 99p, anything more expensive will go on Netmums or Gumtree.
