internet connection grief , errors 0691&0708

I've started having a loada hassle getting onto the internet-:eek: when i click on my speedtouch connection,I get the above errors.But--sometimes,it connects.
This prob only started afted i downloaded avast and dumped avg--(to try a different a/virus). The next time i tried to connect to the internet after the changeover, I couldn't!!-- even though i'd been online after the switch.

I did a system restore but it didn't help. I'm now using IE with google. I'm running avg7.5, zone alarm and adaware se.
What do I need to do to sort the connection problem??--;)

A google search on the first error brings up PC advisor forum which might help, then also do a google search for the other error.

If it has only happened since trying to use Avast, check the Avast settings carefully to make sure internet access is allowed.

It seems a lot of people lost their connection last night, and with different ISP's:mad: .A colleague at work had trouble and he's with AOL---whats going on??:eek: -maybe its atmospheric or solar interference--GOT IT-:j -it was halloween! It must have been all those witches flying about;)
