Meal Planning Meltdown

  • Nope - sorry but we do it religiously even through the festive season [we have a chili on Xmas day and maybe buy a few extra biscuits for guests but that's it].

I have a white board and the meals get written on it each week depending on when we are in/out/away etc...with who will be making it also written down. Lunches for weeks off included.

Apart from one change of plan [moving our day out to Friday from Monday] - all stays the same as planned.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • oh good glad its not just me, im exeactly the same in that just about every item is mentally allocated to a meal, lunch, bakiing or brekkie over the next couple of weeks but with christmas its all gone to pot. ive been eating so much rubbish as well its unbelievable. Cant wait til the kids are back at school and nursery next thursday so it all goes back to normal, and i also need to work out how to use up the stuff ive got left. Just checked the fridge and ive got three extra big blocks of cheese, a massive pork pie, pate, well at least pack lunches are sorted for the month x

  • im the same, i did a big shop before xmas with all my meals planned out, all to be cooked from scratch, my problem is i did so much cooking and baking in the weeks up to xmas (hampers full of xmas cake, shortbread, pickles, jams, sweets etc, and xmas eve breakfast for extended family with hm pancakes, hm french pastries, hm cookies, muffins, crumpets etc.) i cant be bothered to cook now, so have been buying pizza, and last night we even had chinese takeaway. today we are taking the decs down, i feel i need to get organised again! its like a sweet and toy shop has exploded in my house and now i need to get things back to normal. :)

you could grate the cheese down and freeze in bags, can be used straight from the freezer in sarnies, sauces etc hth

I'm in the same boat, i had so much cheap food from all the reductions at work, i've now got a day off and so am planning on emptying the fridge of the fresh stuff and cooking up some big batch freezer goodies!
  • Yes my planning has gone to pot too!! Im normally quite good but we've been visiting over christmas and having big lunches so by teatime we just want sandwiches or something light. However,i must admit that i dont have that much to use up,just little bits n bobs that are annoying me more than anything.
Cant wait to finish the rubbish and get back to my healthy eating...tastes so good feel so guilty!!

Oh I've planned.... then decided I couldn't be bothered to cook half of it!!! :o Well I am on holiday :p

Then the kids decide to stay at their mum's a couple of nights extra - fine with us but that alters the meal plan as some meals I've planned for two of us and some for all of us.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • We've been eating what we feel like and what we fancy... which means the 'unhealthy food' at the bottom of the freezer has been eaten (at long last) and I have so much food... I have hardly got to buy anything for next week.

I feel very out of touch!

I have just finished my meal plan for next week and hope to get back on track!

Oh and there was so much leftover from Christmas, I have frozen it and have even MORE food then I planned!

Am confused as to why being home means we have MORE food in the house!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

I am lost :( I have so much food in the house that i dont know where to start so am going right back to the beginning. Everyone has been snacking on rubbish and so much has been wasted. So today i will empty everything out and record what exactly i have gathered over the past month! I will be ready for the new year with a new plan of action :)
