Hi,

Just wondering: has anyone ever been charged yet, simply for having a 'dormant' store card (i.e. with no outsanding debt)? :o

I've just received standard literature from Santander on their revised terms and conditions, and noticed this information for cards such as Laura Ashley etc. [The Laura Ashley card was previously administered by GE Capital].

Thanks

not yet, but doubt be long
  • I really don't see the issue. If you use your card on even a semi-regular basis you have nothing to worry about. If you haven't used it once in 6 months then you really have to question why you have the card in my opinion.
  • oohh i have a couple which i have forgotten to cancel when i paid of bills and no longer use them as i use a tesco cc now instead to earn points

  • I had a Debenhams store card and never used it apart from the first time and paid it off in full, they cancelled it themselves around 12/18 months later. I got a letter telling me they were cancelling because of inactivity. No charges though!

    Ahhh Santander again.............
  • An account will be closed after 12 consecutive months of inactivity.
  • I have just had new terms and conditions through for a couple of my santander cards which state a £10 dormancy fee. How do I close the accounts so this isn't applied after six months?

    po box 700
    Leeds
    LS99 2BD

Just say i want to close my account.
