Flushing toilet paper?

Hi, I have just had a new bathroom fitted and the toilet paper wont flush on the first go despite using the big flush, it eventually goes on 2nd/3rd attempt. Everything else seems to go down ok other than the paper. Does anybody have any suggestions? I have tried different makes of paper but this doesnt seem to help?

Thanks

You need more water in the cistern, check to see if the level is correct, there should be a line in the cistern for correct level, if not alter the level on the ballcock.

I also find that the new 'low volume' toilets just don't flush everything down on the first flush. It defeats the object of saving water, because you just have to flush 2 or 3 times!

Yep. Our new toilet in the bathroom is nowhere near as good as the 'proper' one in the cloakroom.

Is it a dual flush, quick push of the handle for wee jobs and hold the handle down for big jobs ;)

If the waste outlet goes via a right angle and exits through the floor ( most do ), then try gently pushing the waste outlet back away from the pan slightly and a small amount, it certainly worked on mine.

It gives more clearance for the bigger jobs to pass the restriction of the elbow.

If you are not confident enough to do it yourself, ask your plumber to do it for you.:)
