Two-way radios for a cruise

I dont think radios are going to be much use on board a ship. They'll probably work ok while both of you are outside but once you get inside the ship there will be a lot of structure in the way to stop the signal.0

Just found out you can hire a DECT portable phone for $25 a week that should work anywhere on the ship.. so i can just leave the room phone off the hook and dialled into a portable phone while the little one snoozes.
I might write myself an android app that monitors ambient light and makes an alarm noise if the lights are switched on. Sorted0
