RBS bank charges.

I went 53 PENCE overdrawn, as a card payment that wasnt due to come off until the end of the month came out of my account earlier than expected.

I went into the bank the following morning as soon as it opened and paid the 53 pence back into my account, and the bank have still charged me £20.00. Its ludicrous, surely the bank charge should be in proportion to the amount the account has gone overdrawn by.

Im disgusted with the bank especially given the fact I went into the bank the following morning (the card payment had come off after the bank had closed for the evening) and paid the measly amount back in. And explained a card payment had come off earlier than expected but they werent interested.

So I have opened a new account with Lloyds TSB, who do not charge unless you go overdrawn by more than 10 pounds, and if you do go overdrawn by more than this give you until 3.30pm the following day to pay any money back in without incurring any charges. Far more reasonable in my opinion.
