Does anyone out there insurance unoccupied properties which is being renovated?!

Hi all.
I inherited a bungalow a couple of months ago and got it insured with Towergate on a 3 month policy as it is unoccupied. That 3 month policy expires today and when I phoned up to renew it and to tell them that a load-bearing wall is being removed they refused to insure it. The person on the phone also told me that nobody would insure it!
What on earth do property developers do then? Are there any insurance companies out there which would insure the unoccupied bungalow for another 3 months whilst it is having work done to it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Just google 'Buildings Insurance for renovations'. There are a number of companies who can provide this.
It is not true to say no company would Insure, but they will offer restricted cover only.
If you give BIBA a call, they should be able to supply details of brokers who may be able to help.
http://www.biba.org.uk/ConsumerHome.aspxThe comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
