Halifax Online Banking

Hi
Does anyone else bank with Halifax?
I was under the impression from 1 January 2011 there will be some major changes to the online banking platform resulting in a loss of online stored statements unless these are backed up prior to the upgrade. Can anyone confirm this?
As a result, I urgently need to back up all statements. How far back do these date? What is the best method and most easy method to back these up?
Many thanks.

It won't take effect for everyone on 1st Jan. They will roll out the changes during January, and possibly into February as well.
All the information that is held on the current system about your accounts will remain - as far as I am aware it is just the format that will change.0 -

- The format of your paper-free statements will change. If you want to keep any of your existing statements in the current style, please print them off by the end of 2010.
- From January 2011 we will no longer send emails to let you know when new statements are available to view online. The new online statement should always be up to date with your latest transactions, so there is no fixed statement period.
- You'll still be able to print paper copies of your statements and download them into money management tools.
Basically instead of a digital copy of a paper statement, it's more like a never ending* list of transactions which you can search through, and print-off. The current format is disappearing, but you will still be able to print-off transaction details prior to 2011. You can also request paper-copies from Halifax (via branch or telephone banking).

I believe Online paper-free goes back a maximum of two years (including archived statements). What is the best method and most easy method to back these up?
If you want to retain copies of the statements in their current format you can either print them off or (much more sensibly) request them from Halifax when you actually need a copy. Keep in mind, the transactional information is not disappearing, just the current format of paper-free.
*Not really never ending, but certainly beyond the most recent 60 transactions which display now.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -
A bit silly to request to go paperless and then decide to print them yourself.
You might as well have let Halifax continue to send them quarterly as I do.0 -

That's how I read it ..... a bit like a never ending Willie Wonka gobstopper! (the perils of Christmas TV)I believe Online paper-free goes back a maximum of two years (including archived statements).
The archive goes back 2 years. If you don't archive the Statements appear to vaporise after a few weeks (hence the OH has a 6 month gap - until I took over again!)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
