Lloyds TSB

Hi.
I have a quick question & wanted to know if anyone knows how long it takes Lloyds TSB to close an account in the branch?
I have an appt tomorrow to close my account with them as I have opened a new bank account with a different bank. Just not sure whether it is straight away or what? I do not have any outstanding debits or anything so it should be a straight forward procedure.
Many Thanks in advance

I have closed quite a few accounts with Lloyds (I have just left). I close all my accounts by informing them by a letter. This is usually closed on the same day of them receiving it.
I have closed one account in branch before (a savings account) and that was very quick indeed, although they were keen to flog me another account.
Good luck with your new bank (I've just shifted to First Direct).0 -
If you use the switching service with your new bank there is usually an option to ask them to ask them to close it on your behalf. As John says no need to go into branch, write them a letter.
Why do you want to close LTSB account anyway? You may regret it if you are not happy with your new bank. You do know you can have more than one current account? There are several advantages to having more than one."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Definitely worth keeping another current account open if you can fulfill the requirements of that account (paying in a certain amount etc).0
