Room Thermostat not working
Options
Hi,
I have also posted this thread in diy, but have posted here aswell as was not sure where to place it.
Hi,
Hoping someone can help / advise me.
It appears my room thermostat situated in hallway is not working correctly, does not matter what the temperture of hallway is always clicks below 10 in the same place at all times. However when it clicks at this point it will shut down the boiler - so that part appears to be working.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, is this a common problem with room thermostat's, is there a quick fix or should I just buy a replacement and are these easy enough to install.
Thanks
Dave

Replace it. An easy job usually just three wires to connect.
Don't forget to switch off the boiler and remove the fuse before you start though, and if you are not able to wire up a plug, get someone in who is.
You might want to consider a programmable thermostat, like the Drayton digistat3, provides more versatile control. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Your thermostat may take batteries. These could need replacing. Even when there is a cable running to it - it may also use batteries. Have a look if there is a little flap underneath that could be a battery cover.0

Hi,
Thanks to all for replying.
Make of stat is a Honeywell, numbered dial type, I am sorry I cannot see any model number.
Thanks

Maybe something like this one:-

Places like Wickes / B&Q sell them or similar. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thats the one.
Will either go for straight replacement or give consideration to your earlier suggestion of digital stat.0
