Hi everyone - well we all seem to be making a good start for January, I've updated my total with today's spends in Lid!, had to get fruit, veg, cling film, tin foil, bread flour etc etc.
Sorted the fridge to see what needs used up so some of the "old" veg has been made into soup and found some salmon lurking and a carton of cream so that's now a quiche for the Freezer, lemons have been made into Lemon surprise pud for tonight.
Also got ham and cheese in there so tonights dinner is Bacon and cheese Frittata with tomato salsa from the recipe index on the front page.
Just realised that will be 3 courses tonight so the family should be pleased with me tonight.:p
Have a good evening everyone.;)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

I spent today on:
4 packs YS turkey mince
2 bunches YS bananas
6 packets of oatcakes
Total £9.79
Turkey mince portioned and bagged into freezer.
Soup being made for packed lunch tomorrow and for rest of the week. Oatcakes to accomany the soup! And for hunger gaps.
Apples going soft in fruit bowl about to be made into apple puree. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Hello everyone,
Can I join you? This is all new to me but I have decided to stay at home with my baby girl and not go back to work... so I have a £280 budget for the month. The £280 is everything for us, petrol, food, clothes, etc.
This seems like nothing to me and feels like it is going to be really tough but hoping for inspiration and support from all of you on here.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.0 -
well went shopping, spent £68 in tesco but £40 were clubcard vouchers! so £28 spend there and £18 in home bargains. still need to go butcher though :S0

My first spend this year. £30 in Mr A's. Mostly on fruit and veg. all the rich food we have been eating this past few weeks, just really fancied, some grapes, oranges, bananas and apples. Lifes simple pleasures.
also got a few woopies for the freezer and a nice pair of Pj's in the sale. (got them a few sizes too big for my growing bump).
Happy daysHappy days

Hi, Dont know if it might help but i brought my DH a food flask in Mr.S last week. Save him going to the sandwich shop and buying it everyday - Think it was £8 but its great for taking chunky soups, has a little bowl on the top rather than a cup.
Done my weekly shop - Spent £28.42 in Icelanders and Mr.S. Very pleased with myself as id usually walk round with a big trolley and chuck it all in not even thinking about it. This thread has really made me think about what i spend. Made a stew with a few odd bits of veggies and some bubble and squeek cakes for the freezer. Not much to buy for the rest of the week. Plenty of pack-lunch stuff for the kids and loads of dinners in the freezer.

happycrafter - you're doing the same as me. I have a separate purse for my GC money. I keep the month's cash in it, along with my nectar card, T*sc* Cl*bcard and the C*-*p divi card, so always get my points.
Had a NSD today. Tasty lunch of stir fried veg (from the bottom of the fridge) and including sprouted chick peas, with a beaten egg and a bit of seasoning stirred in, along with soy sauce. Also had a slice of HM bread with peanut butter. Was very nice!
Am about to knock up something else before I leave to visit DH in hospital. Tuna jacket potato I think, with a bit of steamed savoy cabbage tossed in butter, and a banana to follow. Nice and healthy as well as cheap!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
