Hi I'd also like to join in pls. £500 per month for me pls.
This sounds like loads but we struggle to stick to this so my aim for this year is not to overspend on this. With VAT on the up and inflation sky high, I will be very happy if we can stick to budget this year. If I do manage to unspend anything, the leftovers will be added to our savings for our new extension which currently seems like a bit of a pipe dream! This figure is for adults/ two children, one still in nappies. All groceries, toiletries, nappies, cleaning products.
    Good luck to everyone

  • Please count me in this month. £80 for groceries. I only have £200 for the month. £40 for ds1 school dinners, £70 fuel.
Thankfully the boys get fresh fruit and milk every day at school and pre school so the pressure is relieved slightly there, plus they have a cooked dinner at school, it's a lot of money but I do think it's important in this weather. Have a full freezer and lots in the cupboards so I need to get creative. I have to pay my debt off!

    Good luck everyone.

Well done Mrs M!!!! Looking forward to your recipes - I'm a SW fan (when I can be bothered) and need to lose a stone in the New Year.

Could you please put me down for £50 a week?

I'd like it to be lower but think that the price increases aren't going to allow this:(
I'll start this weekend with my first shop of the New Year

    Thank you!!

Well that's me declaring for 2010! Next year starts with a holiday in the canaries partially paid for with GC savings. We love our holidays so that tends to make us really determined to get the most from our shopping. Our budget includes all food, booze, toiletries, cleaning stuff and any spends on the garden as we grow a lot of fruit and veg. £4300 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Thanks to all who keep this thread going it keeps me motivated. Hugs to those who have had a tough time lately.

  • I haven't declared for December yet but I suspect I'm way over. I'm considering an annual target to allow for bulk purchases whilst keeping a weekly eye on the budget. I've bought a cheap purse for my weekly food and diesel expenses in the hope that it will help me keep track more easily. I'm going to set an annual target of £3380 which will include food, cleaning materials and diesel, this roughly translates to £50 per week food and £15 per week diesel.

    Hi everyone

My food budget for January will be £100 and the pet food budget will be £40 please MrsM. My January budget is from December 25th to January 22nd as its now determined by my pay day :D

We still have tons of stuff in that i bought to see us through the snowy weeks when we couldn`t get out to do a proper shop so we shall be making a start on some of that. I also plan to spend less on food this year than last year - hope the prices don`t increase like they have done this year or we`ll starve :p

We also plan to grow more veg in the garden so fingers crossed for a nice summer for a change :D

Thanks to Rosieben, Pink and Mrs M for all the work that you put into the GC for us.

Have a happy and frugal new year everyone

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
