Anyone with experience of 0% BT with Virgin?

I have a Virgin CC with no current balance and need a BT to move from Satander Zero where the 0% is soon to expire. Virgin is currently showing a Life of Balance on the website but has anyone been able to get 0% for 12 months by phoning? What's the best approach, straight to BT or say I want to cancel the card and see if I get an offer I can't refuse?

Thanks

Is this a virgin money card?
I managed to get 0% for 12 months in April by phoning up - 3% fee

Also read through the thread at the top - existing balance transfer thread
  • I find them very helpful and flexible. They've just sent me an offer of 0% on all purchases bought before Feb 2011 up till Dec 2011.

They can only say no, nothing ventured.

Yes. Exactly that deal negotiated back in September with a 2% fee (on my Virgin Atlantic card).

First and foremost, I always talk to 'loyalty' on 0800 783 1116 during office hours.

I never, ever, say "I want to close the account", because I've read too many stories of an eager finger doing just that...after all, it only takes one CSA wanting to get off for their lunch break and, bang, account closed! Much better to intimate what you'll do and get a conversation going. Do your homework on other deals available to new customers, and say you're considering applying elsewhere for your balance transfer because x and y are doing 0% for z months.

    Good luck!
