You're right no doubt :), but I was just wondering whether anyone thinks it's inappropriate (I don't, for the record) or whether any individual schools forbid it.

  • i ordered some of these a few months back for 92p each when there was a BHS glitch and a few afterwards also. they are great little gifts
    :) xx
    another day another GRABBIT!
  • Thanks OP, have ordered a few to be stashed away as little pressies, great bargain!

As a teacher myself, I dont know of any schools that dont allow teachers to be given alcohol as presents. I received a few bottles myself as Christmas presents from children in my class, and after the busy run up to Christmas with Nativities and Xmas parties, they were very gratefully received! Hope that helps you!

well i was going to give wine to teacher for xmas and alot of the other mums thought it was innapropriate...each to their own i suppose ....was going to grab for birthdays during the year, but they are normally only out at christmas..dont want people thinking im passing on my unwanted chrimbo pressies...same reason i am avoiding the boots sale...got loads last year and some cheeky sod said "ooh this is least years ted baker set...did you get it and not want it"...because the packaging is different every year!!!cheek

I just bought a load of sets for teachers in July and hopefully as christmas presents for the teachers in early december, thanks to the above poster for reminding me to get these for teachers presents.

My husband bought me one of these sets the other week for me for christmas and the glasses are lovely, really big and sturdy, not flimsy at all.

    Thanks OP x

They wont last till next xmas as some of the sets have chocolate in which you will be lucky if the sell by date is even anywhere close to july, i think the ones I got last year had to be eaten my may.

My son gave his teacher a bottle of wine for Christmas. My friend is a primary school teacher and she told me that it is usually the preferred gift as they get lots of chocolate and smellies. It is the thought that counts in the end I suppose!
