Lost 1" from my monitor! Please help

Hello, for some bizarre reason when I switched on my pc this morning, I've lost about 1 " from the right hand side of my monitor and all my icons on my desktop disappeared. I tried to do a system restore for yesterday, but that hasn't worked. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks!

It's most likely the settings of your monitor. Most tfts have a refresh button (or setting within the menus) that will align the screen for you. you can also do it manually (on tfts and crts) - try adjusting the horizonal position setting.
If that doesn't work, you could try temporarily changing the resolution of your graphics output. Right click over your desktop wall paper, click properties, go to the settings tab, and change the screen resolution to another size (and then repeat steps and change it back again). Most tfts native (preferred) resolution is 1024 x768, so try 800x600, or a larger one...
