I did buy a box of jewellery for £2, just been throught it all and theres just under 2g of scrap 9ct so about £15? and 12.5 g silver not sure what silvers fetching at the moment, and lots of costume jewelleryso it was worth queuing in the cold for an hour!
Good find! Ours was cancelled but I found a car boot which was rubbish. I didn't get anything.Where will I find one of these magical jumble sales?! I only ever seem to go to car boots that are carp, whats the diference?!
Jumble sales are in a hall - village hall, scout hut, church hall, that sort of thing and I would say you tend to find more vintage stuff at these because lots of old ladies give their clothes to the local causes. I love jumbles and car boots.
Have a look in your local newspaper, online if they have a website. Ours has listings for all jumbles, car boots and table top salesNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
Hiya Nat, i would say the difference between a jumble sale and carboot are the prices, i find jumbles very cheap!! but its madness, a bit like looting but you have to pay lol :rotfl:people are just grabbing stuff.
Most of our Jumbles are advertised in the local papers, venues typically included, church halls, schools, community centres, scout huts, old peoples homes ect ect...and are mostly held on saturdays.
The one today started at 2pm, we got there early to queue at 1pm, and we were about 20th in the queue, by 2pm the queue was massive, literally right down the road!!
It was very hectic, and diffently not recommended to take small children, lots of pushing and shoving, its not for everybody thats for sure!!Everyday im shufflin' Proud Padder ~ All Hail The Power of Pad0 -
Just checking in with my total for the month: £256.63 so far but with some Ebay fees to come off that in a day or so.
Don't think there's going to be much more to add this month as all my BIN listings have ended on Ebay tonight and all my free bets that I'm working on probably won't show a profit until next week anyway so they can be added in to February.
Must try harder to hit the target next month! I'll call January my warm up month as this was the first time I actually entered the challenge.....11k in 2011 - £256.63 / £11,000January £10 a day - £256.63 / £3100 -
don't think i'll have anything else to add this month so declaring at £216.31
See you all next month0 -
One Amazon sale to add for me today for a VHS video £2.78 after fees
Total now = £339.09 but I won't declare just yet in case anymore sell between now and the end of tomorrow
Going to do a few more eBay listings later today but first we are off shopping and for lunchNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -

My first month doing the £10 a day challenge:
£2 ebay sale
£91 cancelled sons guitar lessons, wants to do something else anyway
£12 vouchers from voluntary work
£10 morrisons vouchers
£75 foreign students
£21 halving phone bill and mobiles
Total £211
Most not cash but savings. Some will recurr each month all year but I will only count them this month.
Hope to do more ebay and have more students coming in February.0 -
Just got back from doing a car boot sale. Pesky cold but the sun was shining and the sky was blue!
Very pleased with my £62-00 profit as it wasn't as busy as last time customer wise and was not able to spread out so much as there were loads of sellers. This will bring my final total for January to £959-06. Roll on February!:D2023 Weekly Cash Envelope Savings Challenge #04

£2 saved on Thursday in Selfridges Food Hall..their chicken & ham pies were half price - it has made two dinners for me:D
I have a load of DVDs to sell too - Music Magpie wanted to offer me 41p for them but I am hanging on to them until I get an opportunity to do a carboot because I know I can sell them for more there.0 -
Well done DeeDeeinDooDoo and wow Lellybun that's some total! I have just come on to add £55 saved today as an extra price cut off a bed we were already going to get in the sales (not counting the original discount as we would never have bought at the original price but were expecting to pay more than we have done, which is nice).
I have a few more bits to come - a Global Test Market Survey cheque coming from the US and some cashback which has tracked but is still pending rather than payable - so I will save those for Feb and I am declaring at £234.16.
Most importantly tho, this challenge has got me and DH ebaying again and I'm about to list another load. It is a right old pain the neck doing all the photos etc but totally worth it.
[edit - I forgot a £5 M&S voucher used yesterday]0
