I am going to retire for the rest of the month and build up my strength for February's challenge!
Thanks to everyone for keeping up my motivation, and in particular the lovelies who held my hand through my ebay challenges this month... :A

Sorry Paula, just saw this.
My Airmiles total is a bit of a cheat at the min because it includes 1500 bonus points I got for getting a Llyods TSB Duo card. I do get points for spends on the card, though, and I also change over all my Tesco vouchers. Even attacking it from two angles it's a slow process, but worth it when you get to the point where you can use them (I'm about to book a long weekend away in March, can't wait!)
I'd love to be so disciplined that I could do all regular spends on the card then just pay them off when my salary goes so I could really start racking up miles, but it's definitely not worth it for me, I'd be spending beyond my means like a shot!Debt-free & saving for the next big adventure

Hi All - couldn't keep away ... been enjoying reading your posts - thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes - I had a lovely birthday & a fantastic party - was walking around in a happy bubble for days afterwards. I got a phenomenal amount of vouchers & a fair bit of money as gifts - I'm going to put the money aside for a holiday & the vouchers will be there for treats throughout the year - plus I've got enough drink left over for another small party - maybe a BBQ in the Summer..
Just weaning myself back to frugal ways now - will be back on track soon - ready for next month's challenge.Sorry for the late reply. No we dont NEED the money, it would possibly ease the pressure a little. Its only an 8k pay rise, sounds like a lot but when when you consider its in London 8k isnt going to go far. Not only that but take into consideration I wont be making 5k from baking,£800+ from students, £5k fostering and other general bits. Feeling very deflated...:(
Nat - I feel for you - I don't think £8k sounds like much of an incentive to move to London at all - I live in London (about 15min bus ride from the O2) & although I don't know what the cost of living is like in Devon I spend a fair bit of time on Rightmove having happy fantasies about moving to the seaside, I'm struck by how much more expensive the housing costs are here (& I live in one of the cheaper areas of London.) I imagine that extra £8k would be eaten up in no time. Do you know what is driving him re: the move - sounds like it's not necessarily the money. If you get to the bottom of that perhaps you'll manage to persuade him out of the idea. Good Luck.
