I want to get my computer back to the way it was when I got it.
I cant find how to do this, for my windows 95 computer i had a system recovery disk but I dont have one for my laptop. I tried looking on the system restore bit, but theres nothing to do with full recovery.
Anyone know how this can be done?
Should you need it my laptop is by HP, with an AMD processor.

there is an option on HP's to do a restore disk when you get the PC...if you never did this then there is no way to do what you want
what reason makes you want to restore it ??Ex forum ambassador

The only options available on startup are f2 and f12, ones to do with bios and the other something to do with LAN.Browntoa wrote:there is an option on HP's to do a restore disk when you get the PC...if you never did this then there is no way to do what you want

Oh no, i didnt make a restore disk.
I just want to remove all those rubbish ive got on it, programs, files, etc. And it has never been as slow as it has been recently, thats probably to do with my wireless network since it no longer connects on bootup, it only connects when I get to my desktop screen. If anyone knows how to get it to work on bootup that will be brill.0 -
You could get yourself a Linux distro with disk tools. I recently got Insert, which allows you to run a live Linux OS from RAM, or from a USB stick. This has a number of disk tools bundled with it, and gives you quite a few options. It also has network support, and will even allow you to run Firefox (gives you the option to install if you don't already have it).
edit: You can get it HERE0 -

Wrong info , if you want to restore a hp without the disks there are two ways of doing this
1. tap F10 at start up it will go into a recovery process
2. Goto Start - programs - hp tools (i think, something along thoughs lines) - then HP restore, this will then restart the machine and press the F10 Key for you.
If none of these work however this means that you should have had recovery disks when the machine was puchased.
In the last couple of years some Hp's came with disks the larger number of them came on partition (F10)If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them
