Has anyone used AMEX's Purchase Protection for refunds?

I've purchased a pair of jeans which I've simply changed my mind about about 30 minutes later and the retailer refused to provide me with a refund.
I'm thinking about using my AMEX card's purchase protection and it states that: "Should any UK retailer refuse to give you your money back on eligible items, we’ll refund the purchase price"
Has anyone used this before and if so how does it work? Do I need to send them the item and pay excess like normal insurance?
Thanks.
p.s. the retailer is 7 for all Mankind jeans on Regent St. Don't go there if you might even change your mind on a pair of jeans.

This is from their website:
a) purchased solely for personal use; and b) the cost of which has been charged to Your American Express Card account; and c) not listed as an item which the Insurer will not pay for; and
d) that has had no previous owner; and e) not purchased privately.
So I guess a pair of jeans is an eligible items.0 -
Pairs of jeans from a retailer store is the perfect example of why AMEX have this Card Purchase Protection Scheme for scenarios such as this.
Go ahead !

I really wonder if the insurance company takes the jeans - what they do with all the new stuff they take back??0

I take it then that you have to send them to AMEX at your own expense?0

Just rung up the number supplied by AMEX.
The UK call centre asked for my basic details, amex number, item, where purchased from, why it was declined a refund etc etc
She said she will send out a claim form for me to fill in along with the receipt and a copy of my AMEX statement when it comes out.
They sometimes ask people to send the items back but sometimes not.
It'll be so interesting to know what they actually do with the items - so if anyone works in the "inside" please share!!
