the model number is 2761 I've tried googleing it but there's nothing. it's 240 volts 130 watt and has a 3.5 litres capacity xx

  • We have 2761 model and the book. Had it since 1978 as a wedding present. Does a great job of chickens. cook on high for 1hour per lb. Cooks up to 2kg/ 4.5lb. Preheat cooker on high for twenty minutes. My method. Leave chicken out of fridge while waiting for crockpot to heat up. Remove the lump of fat from inside neck(they always leave a bit there). Rub the sides and bottom of the cooker with this fat. Chuck the fat in the bin. Cook the chicken on HIGH , breast side down, it keeps it moist. Usually makes plenty of stock (depends on the amount of water injected/ quality of bird.) Get a jug for separating the fat from the stock at Lakeland Plastics for that purpose. Season to your own taste of course, we have it plain to suit fussy eaters. I am no chef so have not been that adventurous. Tho I recently cooked Brisket in it and it was really tender. I chopped and chuckedin a few leftover "rubbery" veg in with the brisket some water, salt and pepper and the resulting stock was v tasty. Low is 75 watts and high is 130 Watts. So cooking cost is really cheap and safe. Loads of recipes on the net. Cleaning is a faff as it does not come apart so I tend to use it more than my wife. In fact she has never knowingly used it, altough she is a trained cook..The outer coolwall is a safety feature. Do not use abrasives to clean inside or out. I tend to fill it with hot soapy water and let stuck on food soak for easy cleaning. It is then rather heavy, so its really a "man's job". I may be able to scan the instruction manual for interested parties.
  • Hi, I have broken the lid of my tower slow cooker model 4330 and wonder is anyone knows where I might find a replacement lid. It was a wedding present so is close to my heart. Thanks
  • Hi, I have a russell hobbs/tower slow cooker model 4435 with a brown crock pot and a light beige exterior. Unfortunately the High Auto Low markers have worn off the front and I can't remember which order they came in, Can anyone tell me where High low and auto go, e.g. top middle or bottom. Thanks x.

Just a note to those of you with missing lids. A plate DOES work fine, and I also have a friend who got someone to turn him up a wooden lid! - this had the advantage of having a handle. Plates are excellent for sealing, but do get hot and need a knife or something to lever them off.

I picked up a selection of old glass (pyrex) plates from a junk shop to use as lids for my many dishes/slo cooker that have lost lids. They work great and you can still see what's cooking.

  • Does anyone have a model 2917 (auto 3.5 litre) they don't want? Or just the crockpot? Must be very good to as new condition with no cracks.

Email me at richard at rbaguley dot plus dot com.

    TIA

    Hi,

My mum has just given me her old, hardly used, Tower slow cooker. It doesn't look very big, when I get home I'll measure it, and it doesn't have any heating controls on it. Just turn it on at the wall. Oh, and it's a light brown colour.

Does anyone know of this make? Is it any good? I'm just a little worried about using it for the first time as it has no hi/low control.

    Thanks in advance.

I thonk I have exactly the same one as you. I bought it in the early 80's for £15! I haven't used it for a long time now but it still works. I never had a any problem with using it but did find that dishes all tasted very similar.
  • I have the reverse problem of having a 3.5 slo cooker pot and lid without the base, since somebody:embarasse melted the casing on the electric hob. Plastic burning doesn't smell good.

I am more upset that I have just bought a new recipe book from Amazon_pale_

Has anyone by any chance kept the element part and broken the bowl?
My names not Bill but I am from Beverley
