Hi,
I took out a loan in 2007, where i was told basically if i didn't take out PPI then i wouldn't get the loan. I was pressured etc and it was with Natwest.
Royal bank of scotland are dealing with the claim and the 8 week deadline is today. I haven't recieved a response and i was told that it was unlikely it would be settled within the 8 weeks.
So what next? I have been looking at websites of solicitors who act on your behalf, but they seem to charge a high sum of money up front, plus a 25% of your claim.
My loan was only for £2000, so im assuming i won't get much PPI money back if i claimed aswell with the charges it would cost for solicitor fees.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on what i should do next? I'm very confused and want to keep the costs as low as possible!
Many thanks,
Kay

Its up to you! You can either phone Natwest and see what is going on, where they are up to with your claim, if they have any idea when they will come to a desicion etc.
If your not happy with their response then you can begin the process of complaining to the FOS and let them take over the investigation.
There is no wrong or right desicion, i personally would chase up Natwest first though, and see what they come back with.
Dont waste your money with any claim firms!!!! They are a rip off and its nothing you cant do yourself!!!Liam :money::beer:0 -
Hi Kay, as Liam says do not bother with claims companies, lots have had hassle and they only do the same as us on here anyway.
One the 8 weeks have passed, you can of course make a complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), so you can either do that or sit it out a little longer, good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Give them a ring, and ask what stage they are up to. If the answer is not acceptable to you,Put your complaint in to fos asap, banks are putting claims on hold until the judicial review in late january. So get yours in the queue now with fos.And do not use a claim co, they cannot get you any further on than yours will be at the moment, you are halfway there.0

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Well firstly, the numpties at Royal Bank of Scotland got PPI date wrong, they had the date of the year that i opened my bank which was when i was 15! They wouldn't of known if i didn't ask what date they had, so i assume that this will take longer now to change my details and start the investigation.
I rang them and basically, they have all the information gathered but not actually done anything about it. I downloaded the complaint the Financial Ombudsman website and have sent them off so i will just have to wait and see now.
Thanks again0 -
