Npower Boiler and central heating care, any good?

I am considering Boiler and central heating care as it is the same price as my existing contract, £15 a month, but has the bonus of a free boiler service worth £74. If I move my gas and electric to Npower I get 50% cash back if I do not use their call out service.

Have you any views on this?

  • They use homeserve as their engineers primarily and look at cust reviews for g+e on this site to help with that decision, remember when viewing their tariffs onany of the comparison sites the annual spend and save quoted include a £105 refund after you have made 12 dd payments eg £800 annual spend £150 save against current company, actually means £905 over next 12m or £76 rather than £67 which is £800 divide by 12, so be careful.
  • we have been waiting for our boiler to be repaired for over a week now, over the Christmas period. Their terms and conditions just say that they will come as soon as possible and they must have been extremely busy with the cold snap. I am a little worried as the problem developed within three weeks of the boiler being serviced.
