asda george returns policy

Elderly relative gave me pair of size 5 slippers (I am a size 8!) and I'd like to change them. She hasn't kept receipt and I know Asda have changed their policy recently on exchange without receipt. Just wondered if anyone else has tried to exchange a Christmas present without one?

Kick up a fuss, they are obviously Asda ones.

    Fussy customers get results.

Thats what it seems to be after listening to my wife (who works there) that those that complain loudest get what they want.

All you want is a swap, do not mention they were a gift - just say you bought the wrong size and ask for a different size
and as long as the ones you have are in resaleable condition (as new) then you should not have much of a problem.

Just because they obviously came from Asda, doesn't mean that they weren't stolen from asda. Asda don't know if they were stolen and OP didn't pick some up off the shelf and then demand a free replacement.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll take them back and give it a try. If they won't do it I'll look for a friend who takes a size 5.
