Tues 28th Dec 2010 - What small DFW things will you/have you done today?

Erme

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:!
!
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.!
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good morning everyone,!

Good morning all you DFWers out there!
This early morning insomnia is getting silly now. I've been up for three hours, but I can't get on with much as people are still in bed
So far I have:- run WM overnight on Economy 7
- finished my budget for 2011 - tight so hopefully only tiny price increases during the year
- worked out DFD of September 2012 (AT THE LATEST!!!)
- messed around on OS for a couple of hours getting ideas
- done a few inches of DGD's Xmas present - got a few days before she's back from Wales
- fed and watered chickens
- nip to garage to get milk and bread but nothing else
- hang washing on airer - not used TD in over 8 months
- do meal plan for January- didn't do yesterday
- write my January goals list
- finish DGD's present
- possibly start DD's Xmas present
- ask DS3 what he wants for his birthday in 12 days time then look at the sales
- clean out chickens
- all meals from stores/leftovers - turkey, ham and leek pie I think

Morning all - thanks to Erme for starting us off.
Feeling a little frayed around the edges after a night out last night - amazingly all the blokes were not drinking and OH ended up driving (a variety of issues from man flu to hangovers) so for once the ladies had a drink instead - forgot what fun it is to gossip drunkenly with girls instead of being the unpaid tax service! But am feeling a bit wooly this morning!
Today's efforts....- Checked banks
- Reviewed money left for the month
- Catch up on all the soaps recorded last night
- Hoover and dust house
- Think about New Year plans (not resolutions!)
- Mark some books
- Make tea from stores
- Think about shopping list and meal plan for next week
- Do any surveys that come

Continue to use up Christmas food - we had bacon sarnies for breakfast, using the bacon with which I had covered the breast of the turkey I cooked yesterday. OH'S idea - I was a bit dubious at first, but it was fine, just warmed / crisped up under the grill first :T
Cut up cooked turkey giblets for dogs
Sort out fridge
Sort out my sock drawer, as I have loads of odd socks in there, which is irritating to say the least when looking for a clean pair each morning :rotfl:
