buying double glazing windows with Crystal windows?

I recently called crystal windows for a quote for 3 windows, I just wanted to know the price but of course the price was gonna be more expensive if I didn't sign strait away! I fell a bit presurised but signed as the price dropted from £5000 to £3000. I have 1 week to cancel if I changed my mind, wich I did this morning because I think I should shop around before to buy anything that expensive.
Can anyone recomend a good price and quality (or good experience) company around London south east?
Have you got any experience with crystal windows?
Do you think I should wait the price may gonna go down in winter?

Ask your neighbours who replaced their windows. This will flatter them and they will probably tell you how much they paid too.

We did this with our house. Asked a couple of neighbours who had carried out the work for them and if they were happy etc and then asked them to give us a quote. We had no high pressure sales people just decent local companies.

£3000 seems quite expensive but i dont know the size of the windows. try superglazing we had them and were really rasonable should be in local newshopper or try their shops in swanley or dartford.

Its the biggest con trick in the book presussing customers to sign up n that day.

Get some quotes and also ask friends and family if they can recommend anyone.

Agreed. If someone tried that with me they would instantly lose my business (even if it were a good deal that they were offering).

Hi Magali, I too recently had a quote from Crystal windows. I got their details from Homebase in Stevenage. They came around and gave me an estimate for the whole house. After much discussion from them the price cam to approx 4500. Now this was for the whole house which includes the rear extension which we are currenly having done. so that is 6 windows, 1 bay window and 1 door. Now you have been quoted nearly 3000 for 3 windows!!! I would seriously consider renegotiating with them, that is if you want to go with Crystal. I know I don't, i just used them for a quote. I am going to have my double glazing done by a company based in London. They have been recommended by a few people, including my builder!! We went to their factory and had a lengthy chat with them. They had good ideas and advised on certain things before taking us to their factory where they actuallly make the windows. They estimate 3800 but i was reassured by the quality of the windows and doors.

Definitely do not go with Crystals initial quote!!

Cancel it. Cancel it. Cancel it.
I will not touch any company that offers big discounts for signing straight away.
Nor will I go for any that offers limited this week only 45% off, buy front get the back free or any other deals that make it obvious they never charge full price for anything. 50% off an exhorbitant price can still be too much to pay.

    Hi Sspyrou

The company my wife and I will be using is called "OM Glazing". They are based in North London, near Willesdon. I will double check the name when I get home.

(Is it OK for me to give the name of the company in this post?? Let me know if not and I will remove it asap)

I done the same and signed with crystal for £5500. After shopping around in the local area I discovered a glazing company no more then a stones throw from my door. They quoted me £2200 but the MSE in started hagaling. Now I am paying £2050!!

    Result.
    Keep smiling, G.
