Java Console query

Opening Firefox after installing the latest version of Java, I saw in the Add-on's window which opened, that I have umpteen versions of Java Console. I was wondering, is it ok to disable or uninstall all but the latest version?

You should uninstall all but the latest version as it is a security risk to have outdated versions

    Thanks.

I do recall that you had to manually remove older versions of Java from 'Add/Remove Progs', but I wasn't aware of this Firefox add-on until now.

I have only been able to disable them in Firefox

Should I remove older versions of Java?

We highly recommend users remove all older versions of Java from your system.

Don't open Firefox from any shortcuts, open it from your start menu by right clicking and choosing 'Run as Administrator'.

The previously greyed out 'un-install' entries will be available.
    Move along, nothing to see.
